Sweet Potato Bread Pudding with Bananas Foster Sauce

The first time I tried Bread Pudding, I fell in love. It is such a simple dessert but absolutely delicious. I remember, I was at an Italian restaurant a decade ago and I saw it on the dessert menu. This type of dessert is not common for Russians so of course I have never had the opportunity to try it. I decided on a whim to go for it because I did recollect hearing about it. I never had an interest in trying it because well it doesn't "sound" like the best dessert you could have. I ... Continue Reading

Vegan Thanksgiving Nachos

A lot can be said about Thanksgiving, some good and some bad. For the majority it is a National "Holiday" where people enjoy the day off with lots of food, family and friends. This year however, will be a little different celebration. To me, Thanksgiving is no longer a "normal" holiday it is actually my Vegan Anniversary. Yes, one year ago was my last small sliver of meat. All vegan but without the added preservatives. This "open faced" Oreo cookie will be a hit in your household!   Continue Reading

Blueberry & Beet Bruschetta

This recipe was semi inspired by a recent trip to the Mad City Vegan fest and semi inspired by my love of blueberries that are currently in season.  At the Vegan fest my mom and I got to watch Chef Dave from Lilliana's and Charlie's restaurant in Madison, Wisconsin do a live cooking demo. Not only was this a cooking demo...it was a vegan cooking demo. We got FRONT ROW seats because I didn't want to miss one second. I learned soooooo much.....and I laughed even more. He was truly good enterta... Continue Reading
